When tested, the fire alarm system failed. The entire system requires re-wiring. As it had been plastered over and the walls finished, these need to be ripped out, re-wired and then made good. This was discovered 2 weeks ago. It is expected to take 4 months to complete.
Many other problems as well - won't be ready until next year.

Anyone else heard about the fire systems being completely sabotaged by rival fans and them having to completely redo 75% of the system.
Apparently they are now about 2 to 3 months away from completion. I’m just hoping they get a point deduction and huge fine for their incompetence.

Work commenced in November 2013. So it took less than 3 years. Fact. Plus you can't compare with Tottenham because there was no plan for West Ham to move in until August 2016, so no real hurry. Tottenham started knocking down bits of WHL in summer 2015, so by the time it's finished it will have taken well over three years.
Of course, you may claim that you're included the planning/negotiating period, but if you did that, Tottenham's ground will have taken 10 years from start to finish.

Will be interesting to see what they do on 14th October. Manchester City are refusing to switch the game to the Etihad, as that will mean them facing 3 consecutive league games away from home in April.
The NFL game between Seattle and Oakland is scheduled at Wembley, so zero chance of that being re-scheduled.

not really they had to semi rebuild a stadium. that's more difficult than demolishing and starting again.

They've had to build about two thirds of it in the space of one season. We had to build nothing, we just turned a few lamps upside down and stuck some cable ties around a load of seats and that took us years.
